Art films, to me, are films that possess such mesmerizing qualities that you wish they could loop indefinitely. They delve into deeper meanings and are often suitable for exhibition showings. I had the opportunity to work on two films that I consider the beginning of the art films I aspire to create more of. I undertook the roles of director, cinematographer, and editor for both projects. In brief, "The Pink Chair" explores the theme of coping with depression while navigating the façade of beauty and the masks we wear daily. On the other hand, "Baidah" takes a darkly comedic approach to fertility and the urgency of time as I approach my thirties, a constant reminder of the race against the clock. These experiences have fueled my passion to continue crafting meaningful art films.
